The Thimbleberry Gallows is GreyZelda's first original production.

We explore what may have happened to Fanny Hooe, a visitor to the Upper Peninsula's Copper Harbor in the summer of 1846.  Legend has it that she disappeared.*  A lake and creek were named after her close to Fort Wilkins, her brief stomping grounds.  Lake Fanny Hooe is the view you see above.

Mulch is the primary pensmith.

Crow assisted with the words along with M. Kuhlmann and is the director of an amazingly talented group of people.

Lisa Wilson (LZ) is premiering as our assistant director.

Brenda Barrie plays Fanny.  Melissa Kuhlmann is Detta, Fanny's sister.
Thom Sigsby, plays Detta's husband, Fanny's brother-in-law, Daniel Ruggles.  Tom Gordon plays Corbett Wallace, a man sent to the fort to evaluate its worthiness to the US government.  Chris Riter is stepping in as the professional soldier, Henry Dobbs.

Heath Hays will be creating the set design.

Julie Ballard is our lighting designer.  You can peruse her site
here.

Robert and Kristen are deriving the music of the time.

Sarah Stec created the poster design above.

*Fanny, Detta, and Daniel were historical figures.  This play is created from GreyZelda's imagination and fascination with the legend and the northern Michigan land.  Any occurances that resemble what actually happened during Fanny's visit are purely coincidental.

"The young GreyZelda ensemble do fine work and director Rebecca Zellar is very good:  the wordless, dancelike prologue, epilogue, and scene transitions are emotionally evocative, and she moves the actors around the stage ... swiftly and intriguingly . . ." Jennifer Vanasco, The Chicago Reader
